It’s Monday, and I am not too sure I’m prepared to say hello. I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend – I even managed to get through most of my to-do list – but I currently wish I was snuggled up on my couch with a blanket, a cup of tea (or something stronger) and doing absolutely nothing. Does anyone else currently feel the same? Sometimes the weekends are not long enough in my book.
Either way, I feel like January has been a reset month for me. I’ve taken weekends off from work and enjoyed downtime with friends, I’ve said no events, said yes to alone time but also spontaneity. I believe that this has all been good for me. While I know I’m not tackling 2017 at full speed like one might hope to do – “New Year, New Me” is the popular motto, right? – I’m pretty okay with chugging along, staying true to my word of ‘Focus‘ and channeling my energy into myself.
In the spirit of Motivational Monday, and in case you’re feeling that New Year’s Resolution slump too, just remember this: “Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.”― Earl Nightingale
I have learned that good things take time, to be stubborn and motivated about your goals, but flexible and accepting of methods and outcomes, and that you need to enjoy every step of the way. Because life is pretty grand. Ain’t it?
