Every time I talk to my dad on the phone he asks three questions: “Are you eating well?” “Are you being safe?” and “Are you wearing comfortable shoes?” Oh Frank, he’s a good one. He always asks about my shoes because he knows that I clock in about 3-5 miles per day just walking around NYC for work, meetings, photo shoots and commuting. When I first moved to New York, I always rolled my eyes at commuter shoes – how dare you pair your gorgeous designer outfit with some neon running shoes. I learned the lesson the hard way during my first couple of months in NYC that wearing cute shoes (even at an inch or two) are actually a pain in the ass and my feet hurt all the time. I quickly expanded my sneaker collection and started wearing them on a weekly basis. When I’m on set for a photoshoot or running around to meetings, I want shoes that I can move around in and last a 10-12 hour day in.
Now, you won’t catch me in neon running sneakers or ugly commuter shoes – so, for today’s Wear It Wednesday, I’m sharing 5 different sneakers that you can wear from the office to date night and everything in-between. What’s your favorite look? xo
1. The Office Sneaker
The best way to elevate a sneaker for the office is to stick with neutral colors like black, white or grey. My current favorite is this nude slip-on Steve Madden sneaker. I paired it with a trench dress (totally office-appropriate) and statement purse to have business on top, party on the bottom!

2. The Casual Sneaker
While I’d love for my weekends to be spent in bed, I’m normally running around shooting stuff for the blog, hanging out with friends or running errands. I opted for a more traditional “running” sneaker in an all-white mesh material and rose gold detailing. These sneakers are SO comfortable and definitely stand out in a crowd.

3. The Date-Night Sneaker
Who says you have to wear heels for date night? I paired this killer yellow dress (very Beyoncé Lemonade vibes right?) with my classic Adidas. Maybe you’re going dancing for date night, or just grabbing cocktails – but either way, your feet will stay sane for the entire evening and you can focus on more important things, like your date 😉

4. The Girls-Night-Out Sneaker
Someone turn up the music and hand me a cocktail because these leather Superga hightop sneakers and lace dress are my new favorite combo! After trying on this look, I only want to wear sneakers on a Saturday night now.

5. The Party Sneaker
It’s time for a party! I paired my trusty (and pretty worn in) Chucks with a playful dress, bomber jacket and tassel earrings. This look is ready to dance the night away!

You know I love all of the looks as much as I love your style, but the office sneaker look has to be my favorite. I can completely agree that sneakers have taken over my life since they are so much more comfortable and functional than any type of heel or flat. I loved this list definitely inspiring for me to love my sneakers a little more!

Hands down the ‘Date Night Sneaker’! I have an uber feminine style but during the summer especially when I find I want to be comfortable while pulling off a late night, I’ll pair what ever dress I’m wearing with my trusty beat up white converse low tops! I think this look is right up my alley, and something I would wear during the day, let alone night time! Also please know that this was a terribly hard decision to make due to the fact that the ‘Casual Sneaker’ had a stripe top included, and stripes are my WEAKNESS. But then you mentioned Beyonce, and I quickly found clarity.

The office sneaker is my favorite! But I wish they were some cool nude high tops (not so secret obsession of mine) I sturggle trying to find the best way to make my high tops for ever occasion.
I would love to see more high top sneaker looks. For all occasions not just casual. Love it!
