At the end of each month I take a few minutes to reflect on previous few weeks and think about what worked well for work, the blog, my personal life and set some goals for the upcoming month. I personally feel like 2017 has completely flown by in a blink of an eye. It was a jammed packed year (and I fully intend to write more in depth about the year next month) but wow, how is it almost December? I thought when I left my office desk job and started working for myself I would have all the time in the world, and boy was I mistaken. Is it just me or does anyone else feel like there are not enough hours in a day? I was listening to a podcast yesterday while working and I really resonated with a clip someone was saying about how we leave our structured desk job to gain freedom, make our own schedules and create balance, but in reality we get suckered into to-do lists, 20+ hour work days and no balance.

Now my job isn’t just one thing either, I am a freelance fashion editor for StyleCaster.com (read my articles here), I run Simply Audree Kate full-time and oversee a small team of interns (who help me stay sane), I travel and host fashion industry and career workshops at colleges around the country, and I also style. My official fashion styling business, Audree Kate Studios launched a few weeks ago which I’m really excited about!

So as you can probably see, there are not always enough hours in a day to complete my ever growing to-do list and overflowing inbox. But, I am not complaining one bit though because I absolutely LOVE my job, the ability to work from home, a coffee shop or a plane, and I love the freedom to create my own crazy schedule. When I sat down yesterday to reflect on November, and the rest of 2017, I realized that time really does fly by when you’re having fun, living in one of the coolest cities, and you’re happy.
