The Lace Slip Trick

Do you ever feel like you need a vacation from your vacation? Chicago last weekend was seriously so amazing! I absolutely loved the city and I can’t wait to go back. I’ll be doing a trip recap on the blog next week. I flew back to NYC early Monday morning on barely any sleep, and it completely threw off my entire week. I ended up taking Monday as a “personal day” – I napped, unpacked, cleaned and ate a delicious bagel (I had to get a little NYC back in my life, ya know?). And by the time Tuesday rolled around, I had zero motivation to work. I leave on Monday for another trip, and it’s all I can think about! I am going to Arizona for about a week to visit family, friends, and my sister’s bachelorette party! These back-to-back trips are exactly what I need to recharge and refocus, but this in-between week has been a STRUGGLE!

Today’s look is a new off-the-shoulder dress I got from Lulu’s. Sometime’s I have trouble buying things online since I don’t know how short the pieces will actually be. I am curvy so sometimes dresses, skirts, shorts just don’t work like they do on the model. This dress, looked short online, but I still had to get it! I put a lace slip underneath to add length and spice up the entire black ensemble. Yes, the normal use of a slip is to prevent static or to add a layer to a see-through dress – but forget what you used to know, because there is an entire new way to use slips this year! The lingerie trend is going to be huge for fall, so don’t be afraid to make some of your under garments a staple in your look!

Also another huge taking point in today’s look are these Prada sunnies. Did someone say Prada? Yes child. And I’m in love! You won’t catch me often in designer duds, unless I was able to snag them at a vintage shop or they were hand-me-downs; but recently I was introduced to Shop Ditto.
