My perception of business wear has drastically shifted the past few years as I have transitioned from a solely business world mindset, to a creative, fashion community. I know I have talked about office clothing a little bit before on the blog (this blog post), but it’s been an interesting experience to work in both ends of the spectrum. I have worked in very corporate settings where neutral suits ruled the cubicles, and I have also worked in settings where, an outfit like this – ripped jeans, sneakers and bold lipstick – is the norm.
Despite what your office dresscode is, I wanted today’s look to showcase one of my typical office looks. My schedule changes each week – one day I’ll be in an office working on a freelance project, and the next I’ll be lugging 30 pounds of garment bags across Manhattan. So to accommodate my ever-changing work schedule, I have let comfort take a forefront in my wardrobe. I want to make sure I can easily move around in an outfit, that I can last a 12-hour day in my shoes, and that I feel polished, confident, and ‘Audree’ in each look. Today’s look is just that! I love layers so I typically have some sort of outerwear with each look – a jacket, a blazer or scarf. Next I do comfortable pieces like pants, a loose tee, and flat sneaker or boot. I dress up the look with my accessories such as a statement earring or necklace, and almost always a pop of lipstick.
What is your office go-to look? Are you able to bend the dresscode rules, or how to do you let your personality shine through? I want to know below in the comments! Happy Tuesday loves! xo
