Although cold weather has arrived, it doesn’t mean the end of cute date nights with that special someone. Even if you’re just with friends, use winter as a time to try new things and spice up your usual routine. Get creative with date nights to keep your winter exciting. Here are some SAK favorites:
Pumpkin Spice Latte Hunting: The telltale sign that winter has arrived is the sweet smell of pumpkin spiced lattes in the air. Why not up your usual coffee date and try to find the best latte? Take the afternoon strolling downtown, tasting different stores’ until you find the best pumpkin lattes together. If PSLs aren’t your thing, have fun taste-testing other holiday menu specialties. Layer a denim shirt with a warm wrap for an effortless, yet chic look.
Hayrides: Although fall is coming to an end, there are still plenty of fun festivals going on around town. Check your local paper for events you can turn into date nights. Pumpkin patches, orchards and farms are the perfect setting for a snuggly hayride. Use the outdoor setting as a chance to break out your cowboy boots and some chunky jewelry.
Ice Skating: Though we don’t all have enough cold weather for cute winter dates, that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy it. Even here in Arizona, the city has put in an artificial rink to enjoy during the holiday season. Take advantage of the rink and go on an ice skating date. Take your skater skirt to a new level with opaque tights, knee socks and dark lips.
Christmas Lights: Nothing will get you in the holiday spirit faster than some old-fashioned caroling and Christmas decorations. Grab a warm sweater and soak in the holiday spirit exploring the impressive decorations around town.
Baking: One of the best parts of cold weather means you can use it as an excuse to stay in and lounge. But that shouldn’t mean your Friday nights turn into sweatpants and movie marathons! Bake something delicious with your honey and look fabulous while doing it. Opt for some neutral tones and a comfy sweater. Totally food baby proof too!
Daytrip: Road trip out of the city and escape the stress of the holidays to explore a new place together. Try new foods, window shop, visit museums; create an experience together. Dress up some boyfriend jeans with a blazer and pumps for a charming afternoon.
Embrace the winter season and use date nights try new looks and activities. Challenge your winter wardrobe and turn frumpy sweaters into fabulous ensembles. The holidays are about making memories so use date nights as a way to make new memories with the people you care most about no matter what you’re doing. Happy holidays readers!
