Yup that’s right folks, your girl got bangs. In case you haven’t noticed the past few years, I have had a handful, or more, of hairstyles. From long, to short, from red to blonde, I’ve hit a spectrum of styles and colors. I love changing up my hair for a new chapter in my life (read about that here) or to embrace a new personal mantra. This winter, was the season of bangs and natural roots for me.
I had straight across bangs in high school, side bangs the first part of college and then no bangs the past 4 years. I felt like I needed a change, and a punch of spunk if I was saying goodbye to the blonde I have loved so much. I decided the more natural look was a little easier to maintain with my schedule, nicer on my wallet and healthier for my ‘do too. I have been contemplating bangs for a few months now because I loved them in high school and have noticed their comeback. But I wanted something a little more trendy and fashion forward. I wasn’t ready to commit to a full on 70’s shag (see here) but I brought up the length, added layers and chopped those bangs! I envisioned Bridget Bardot messy middle part bangs (see here).
The photos in today’s post were taken the day after I cut my hair, and I personally think they were a little too short to manage at first, but now they lay very nicely, have grown out just a little bit and I’m LOVING the middle part bangs.
