Oh, Chicago

My suitcase is packed and I’m headed on another vacation in just a few hours! This time, I’m headed home to Arizona to see family and attend my sister’s bachelorette party! I cannot wait for this trip! If you were following along on social last weekend, you saw that I visited Chicago; I had SO much fun! I’ll be recapping my trip on the blog throughout the week and you won’t want to miss it. Today is a quick overview of the weekend, and a sneak peek from my super cool shoot I had with Chicago photographer, Morgan Terlouw, of Verdigris Photography Design!

One of my best friends, Kelly, and I have been talking about taking a trip to Chicago for about a year. She loves the city, and I’ve always wanted to visit! Recently both of our schedules changed and we had Lollapalooza weekend open again to visit. We immediately booked last-minute flights and packed our bags! A handful of college friends moved to Chicago after graduation, so it was amazing to catch up with everyone and tour the city. I honestly think it’s the best when you have a local tour guide to take you around and show you the “real” version of the town, versus the most touristy things. Don’t you agree?

On Friday, our second day into our trip, we met up with a close friend Erica for brunch (see the french toast flights below. YUM!), and then I did photos with Morgan. Afterwards we toured around a bit and went out with our group of guy friends. On Saturday we went to Wrigleyville and watched the game, ate and later went out. On Sunday we attended Lollapalooza, and I had a blast! It was my first festival and it was quite the experience. I loved how Chicago still felt like a big city but it was slower pace than NYC, spacious, and just a different atmosphere. Don’t get me wrong, NYC will always have my heart, but it was a nice little vacay!
