Metallics for Spring

Today is a metallic skirt kind of a day. It’s almost the weekend, warm weather is almost here to stay, and my bare legs are ready to make an appearance! So hike up your skirt ladies, and let’s get to it! This is another look from my shoot in Phoenix over the holidays, and I think the only way to define Phoenix winters, is like a transitional season, but every single day. It’s not really cold enough for winter gear, but you definitely need some coverage. It’s kind of unpredictable but I think I would take that over my New York blizzard alerts!

For this weird transitional period between winter and spring, or even summer to fall,  I typically opt for a couple light layers –  like a shirt under a light-knit sweater, or a blouse and a leather jacket. I like to wear things that I can easily take off if I’m hot, or layer on if I’m cold. Make your life simple and wear light layers instead of having a minor heatstroke in your parka, or feeling unprepared for a sudden change with Mother Nature. I paired my light layers with my metallic skirt and my go-to ankle boots from winter. This look can also be great from day to night because you wear the sweater at the office, and then take it off and just rock the shirt and skirt for happy hour or date night.
