French Macaron Workshop

IMG_4708

This past Saturday I woke up early and headed to my second installment of my  Vimbly collaboration. If you remember, in early February I did a New York Craft Cocktail Tour with my dear blogger friends, Kayla from Kayla’s Five Things and Andie from Gingersnap. This time around we changed our adventure from a hidden NYC speakeasy to Mille-Feuille, dainty little bakery in the West Village for a French Macaron Workshop.

I wasn’t too sure what to expect, but I was beyond excited because I’ve always wanted to take a cooking/baking class! Our class consisted of 4 groups of people and we learned to make three different types of macarons: Vanilla, chocolate and pistachio. The class was taught by one of Mille-Feuille‘s own and I’m pretty sure my macarons would have been a disaster if he wasn’t there.  We started off by making the shells and then made the fillings once the shells were baking. I’m surprised how simple the steps were in general to make these treats and I might even be bold enough to try these at home sometime.

If you’re interested in trying some of your own, you can find recipes here, here and here! I hope you enjoy a little glimpse into our Macaron workshop- you can sign up for a class right here, and don’t forget to check out Kayla’s and Andie’s posts today too!
