Hotel Diaries: CitizenM Hotel NYC Staycation

This past weekend I had the opportunity to play tourist and do a staycation in the heart of Times Square. I absolutely loved every minute of it! I collaborated with citizenM Hotels for this weekend getaway and I’m really excited to share their hotel with you today on the blog!

citizenM is an innovative boutique hotel with locations in Europe, Asia and now New York City. Their mission is to create affordable luxury for the new breed of international travelers and adventurers, aka the mobile citizens of the world. I was really excited to spend the weekend with citizenM because I definitely needed a break and check “out of office” for a couple of days.

When you arrive at citizenM, you self-check-in at welcome kiosks in the lobby. The hotel is limited-service – no extra fluff – but I really liked that I could be independent and have an efficient, minimalistic stay. Also, let’s be honest, how much time do we really spend in our hotel rooms on vacation? The hotel rooms are all one size, and provides everything you need for a great stay; there is an XL king-sized bed, wall-to-wall window, free Wi-Fi, free premium TV and movies (say what!) and I think one of my favorite parts was that there is a drawer under the bed that you can leave an opened suitcase, so your belongings aren’t strewn all over the room. Since the rooms are fairly smaller than most hotels (but everything in NYC is “boutique” right?) they have a huge open space in the lobby that acts as your living room. The lobby has a bar, couches, library area and the 24/7 grab-and-go dining area. There is a rooftop bar and lounge area that I’ll be sharing pics of later this weekend, and the hotel has a gym, a ironing room for your clothes, and you’re only a couple minute walk from the heart of Times Square.

My room was on the 17th floor and it was SO quiet and peaceful. I expected the room to be loud since the theatre district can be noisy, but when I was sitting in bed and working on my laptop, it was quieter than my apartment!
