ICYMI: September

Happy October loves! It’s officially the start of my favorite time of year. I love all things fall and holiday and with this new season starting, I feel like I’m starting a new season and chapter of my life.

The other day I was reflecting on the past few months and I realized that last week was the first week I felt like my head was above water in almost six months. Do you ever have those periods in your life where chaos takes over and you just feel like you’re on a never-ending treadmill? My schedule and to-do lists were completely full, and I never felt like I was reaching an end point or finishing a project before the next started. During this chaotic time I took a mini hiatus from writing blog articles to focus on my outside freelance work projects (you can read more about it here). Now things have a slowed down, at least for a couple weeks, and today I’m going to give you a quick update on what I was up to this past month, ICYMI (In Case You Missed It).

Summer was officially almost over and I decided to change things up a bit and ditch the pink hair. It was so much fun for summer, but I went back to a bright blonde.

WEDDING DAY

My older brother Eric got married at the beginning of September in our hometown in Arizona. Eric and his wife Mallory have known each other since kindergarten and started dating after high school when my mom set them up! My sister Arseña and I were bridesmaids and it was such a fun weekend to spend with family and friends.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

The wedding was during New York Fashion Week so I skipped a majority of the days to be in Arizona. I flew back just in time to prep for a styling project and work the Alice + Olivia presentation. I have been on the A+O styling team for two years and it’s always my favorite NYFW event! Here are some snaps from the show.

STYLING

The day after the A+O show, I styled a fall / holiday campaign for the shoe company, Shoe-Inn and the rest of the month I styled for a few modeling agencies and local photographers.

INDUSTRY EVENTS

Although my fashion month schedule was fairly calm compared to my industry and blogger friends, I still had a pretty busy month with press dinners, events and meetings with brands! I attended a fun launch dinner with Ted Baker, a breakfast with Hanes for Dress for Success, and an intimate Lauv concert with Verizon and iHeartRadio!

NEW YORK CITY

I tried to soak up every last minute of summer this month with friends and planned a few fun girls’ weekends. I went to a roller disco one night, spent this past weekend visiting upstate New York for apple orchards and a pumpkin patch, and then scheduled dinner and coffee dates with other friends I didn’t see during the summer.
