How do you make a leopard coat feel “casual?” By keeping everything super simple underneath! I know ‘leopard coat’ and ‘casual’ can hardly be considered synonymous, but this past year, I have felt like leopard has grown to be considered more of a neutral statement and must-have piece in the fashion world. I have shown my vintage leopard coat a couple times on the blog (HERE and HERE) and one thing always stays the same, keep things simple underneath to help the overall balance of a statement coat. You want your coat to be the talking point, plus it’s an easy starting point for fashion risks.
For today’s look, I am wearing this to-die-for Guess Leopard Coat! I was saving to wear it during fashion week, but due to working pretty much all week, I didn’t get to show it off at any events or shows! Oh well, I’m dedicating a whole darn post for it! I absolutely love how fitted the coat is – this helps make it look more casual and streetwear, versus an oversized luxurious, embellished coat; and isn’t this detachable pink fuzzy collar the perfect punch of color? Underneath the coat is a simple black v-neck tee, distressed straight-leg Levis and converse. These pieces are classic staples in my closet, but when paired with the coat – everything comes into balance. I topped off the look with two vintage chokers and mirrored sunnies. I hope you enjoy today’s look, and you can shop the items directly in the links below. Happy almost weekend! xo
