There are two things I love the most today, my new olive velvet skirt from Savers, and my apartment roof. We live on the top floor on our building – 6 seriously steep flights of stairs without an elevator. I guess it’s karma for not having a gym membership the past four years and always opting for the elevator, escalator and just avoiding maximum exertion all together. But even with my sore legs (*hoping they miraculously turn into T-Swift stems by spring) and all, I don’t mind the view. Our building is in a nice quiet neighborhood and doubles as the perfect tanning area/photography studio.
And now for my other favorite part, this skirt – oh baby. I thought I ended my relationship with velvet in elementary school but when my mom showed me this skirt I was like, “Oh heck yes Karen!” I love how versatile it is – last week i pulled it down on my waist and paired it with a long boxy shirt to create a ruffle detail dress, and here I pulled it up and tied up a simple tank for a flirty look. The skirt was $6 and I know I’m going to practically live in it this fall! Also if you haven’t taken note, silver is BACK! I’m excited to wear my silver jewelry again, especially because all of my awesome thrifted rings are real silver. I scored this awesome coil ring, very similar to an old one I had in middle school, and it’s the perfect addition to tough up my look. Hope you enjoy this look and come back tomorrow for more outfit goodness!
