Is it just me, or did you wake up today hoping it was Thursday. Tuesday just seems like a slap in the face, am I right? For today’s post, I’m sharing an outfit I’ve been holding onto for a couple of months until it started warming up and feeling like spring! I shot this look while I was in Arizona for the holidays with the ever so talented Denise Nicole (see some of our other looks here and here.) I wanted to show an easy way to mix prints for spring – like my favorite combo: stripes and florals – and keep it simple and fresh. We photographed the look at one of my favorite little motels in downtown Phoenix. The street and pale pink walls make me feel like I’m in downtown Los Angeles just living that West Coast dream. Pretty different than my New York City life right about now!
I’m always a little more playful with color and prints during the spring and summer. I love mixing florals and stripes because they can easily layer on top of each other without too much contrast or making an outfit look heavy. As for color, I really liked mixing the deep burgundy colors in my boot and lips with the red in the scarf for a fun transitional spring feel. I did light layers for this unpredictable weather, and topped off the look with my go-to Old Navy flares. I hope you enjoy today’s look and see you later this week for more fun transitional spring outfits! xo
