As we are in the thick of summer all I can think is simplicity when it comes to my makeup and skincare regimen. Boots No. 7 has some awesome products that are light and look great on the skin for the summer. I have tried all of these products for a couple of weeks and here are my thoughts on them!
Lets start off with the skincare items! I actually like all three of these products as they are very affordable and are comparable to department store products!
Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Water
This product retails for $8.49. I am very satisfied with this product as it cleans very well for cleansing water. I use this in conjunction with my daily cleansing regimen, but on lazy days this is my go to for makeup removal and cleansing. I will take about two pumps on a cotton square and remove all of my makeup. When this is done I will go in with a second cotton square with a little more product to make sure that every trace of makeup is off. I enjoy this product and for the price it is very comparable to the much-raved Bioderma Micellar Water over in the UK!
Boots No7 Facial Hydrating Water Spray
This product retails for $9.99. This is by far my favorite product that was sent to me from the Boots No7 line. I always use a hydrating spray after I was my face before I apply my moisturizer. This compact spray bottle is great for everyday use as well as on the go! I like to give my face a spray throughout the day as Arizona weather is very hot and dry. I have recommended this to my friends as we used to use the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herb and Rosewater which is significantly more expensive. I also find this very comparable to the MAC Mineralize Charged Water Revitalizing Energy spray which is upwards of 20 dollars. I think hydrating sprays are all that is talked about in the beauty world this summer and Boots No7 has a hit on their hands with this one.
Boots Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask
This product retails for $9.39. My first impression of this mask was that is was extremely watery. It took me off guard but definitely prevented me from overusing the product something I tend to do with masks. I let this mask sit on my skin for only about 10 minutes as it dried very fast due to the runny consistency. After I removed it my skin felt extremely smooth, and as the night progressed I did not see the shine on my face to peek through like usual. I will use this mask but I don’t think it is worth the retail price.
Boots No7 Perfectly Bronzed Mosaic
I want to start off by saying that I now have a reliable drugstore option when it comes to bronzers! I have never been able to find a bronzer that was dark enough for me. This mosaic compact is a perfect two in one especially for summer. When in the thick of summer I like to cut down on my products and the fact that this doubles as a blush and bronzer is perfect. I love the blush rectangles woven in, even though they are not much they pack a punch. I love the pigmentation of this mosaic as I barely even need to tap my brush into it. I would say this is hands down a must have for a bronzer blush two in one. I don’t think there is anything better they could have done with this as it is perfection.
Boots No7’s foundation match made service
I recently got to try out the Boots No7 match made service at my local Walgreens! I had a great time with Natasha the boots representative matching me. When I first arrived the beauty section of the Walgreens truly looked like the makeup counters in a department store. I took a seat at her station and she asked me about my skin as well as if I had any makeup on. Since I knew she was going to match me I purposely went to the appointment without makeup on just to make her life simple. She pulled out her little tool pictured above and took a photograph of my skin down by my jawline as well as my cheek area.
The cool thing about the match made service is that the matching device used not only photographs the exterior of your skin that every one sees, but it takes a photograph of your undertone as well. Over the years I have found that knowing your undertone is very important as the foundation could look ashy because the undertone is not correct.
After she took a few pictures she was able to tell with the help of the device that my color was either going to be Deeply Honey or Toffee. She matched me in the Lift & Luminate foundation they do have multiple foundations that tend to different needs. The Lift & Luminate foundation lifts, firms and evens skin tone and has an SPF of 15. It is a medium coverage foundation that has a natural radiant finish. Natasha then tested the Deeply Honey foundation shade on my first and she found it to be a little too ashy, so she removed it. Then she applied the Toffee and we both agreed that it was a great match!
All the Boots No7 products are buy one get one 50% off at Walgreens so I highly suggest going in a trying this service as it is free. You are not obligated to purchase anything when the representative matches you to a foundation. The service takes about 15 minutes and no appointment is needed you can just walk in and they will assist you! All the Boots No7 products are affordable especially for college students on a budget. Natasha is located at the Osborn and Scottsdale road location and she is there Tuesday to Friday from 10 – 6:30pm.
They have a huge display and plenty of products go check them out!
Thanks for the great review Aveena!
