Summer Fashion Show Recap

Phoenix Fashion Week Model Announcement

At the recent Phoenix Fashion Week Model Announcement and Head Shot Challenge held at INTL in Old Town Scottsdale, bloggers, stylists, and fashion moguls alike were lucky enough to get a sneak peak at this year’s lineup of models for Phoenix Fashion Week. Luckily, Kelly Burleson was able to attend the event in my place, and this is what she had to say,

“Upon arrival at INTL, we were immediately directed towards the PHXFW backdrop for an impromptu photo op and then were free to enjoy makeovers from Boots Beauty Experts and network with others while waiting for the night’s festivities to begin. Once chairs began lining the red carpet, you could feel the energy in the room heighten as we grabbed our seats, got our iPhones ready, and patiently waited to see which 40 individuals would be competing this year. Up until the announcement, it was a secret as to who would be participating in the 2014 Model of the Year competition. Members of the Phoenix fashion community were delighted to see many familiar faces mixed in with some new contenders for this year’s competition.

The models brought their “A” game as they strutted down the red carpet, debuting themselves to the fashion world of Phoenix. The competition this year is going to be tough! Each one of the models is in it to win it and you could tell from the confidence and excitement they exuded. Each of the models looked amazing in their headshots as well as their runway walks. The Headshot Challenge is a big part of the competition, and a huge congratulations to the winners, Sammy and Nico! It takes a lot to stand out in this competition, and their efforts did not go unnoticed! I had so much fun being able to step in for Miss Audree Kate while she is away in NYC. It was a wonderful evening and a great kick-off for the many events to come for PHXFW 2014!”

Brave Wings Fashion Show

Earlier this summer, in the midst of Phoenix Fashion Week events, The Venue at Scottsdale hosted Brave Wings Fashion Show founded by Jenesis Laforcarde of Woman’s Touch Apparel and Mabel Cortez of Mabella Chic. Jenesis is one of the designers that will be showing in fall fashion week and we were all extremely excited to see her new line on the runway this summer! The show featured several other designers including my favorite 2013 Phoenix Fashion Week designer Michelle Hébert and the show directly benefited Ryan House.

I wish I could have been at the event in person but a huge  thank you to my sister Arseña and her boyfriend Mike for attending the event in my place! Some of our favorite pieces on the runway are featured below plus some behind the scene shots complimentary of Rosemary Woods of Desert Rose Images.
