Phoenix Fashion Week concluded on Saturday night. Talking Stick Resort filled with an eager audience dressed to the nines. We couldn’t believe how fast the weekend flew by but were so excited to be attending one final night of 2013 Phoenix Fashion Week.
Enzoani’s collection of formal gowns were beautifully draped and ranged from short cocktail to wedding gowns.
Up next was Silvia Bours. This collection was my absolute favorite. With Phantom of the Opera masks, ballet slipper-like heels and a large amount of lace and glitz, Bours’ collection was the epitome of a girl’s perfect fairytale. Each dress was remarkably flattering on the body and the zipper details with the hearts on the backs of dresses were just an extra bonus!
Elevee won over the crowd when Percy Knox’s, designer, dapper mini me strutted his stuff down the runway before the models. Elevee’s collection hit right on point with the SAK team! We were impressed with the versatility of the line from the golf-course
to a black-tie event attire. Knox knows how to dress a man well!
Look at this future little ladies’ man
Knox, who worked 11 years in the professional sports field, has now been recognized for dressing the top NFL draft figures such as Adrian Peterson and Larry Fitzgerald. “We dress the everyday man,” Knox states, “Elevee has everything to emulate a man’s style.” Since 1999, Elevee is the fastest in the industry for turn-around of their customized pieces. In the next year you can look forward to seeing custom Elevee stores with ready to wear pieces. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Percy Knox and Elevee!
This is not just your typical menwears’ line; the mix of pieces, textures and addition of accessories really differentiates an Elevee man.
Doux Belle impressed the crowd that night with a high level of elegance with a vintage twist. The collection had strong silhouettes and were perfectly accentuated with hats and gloves.
Rachel Wagner, designer, stated “I design for women. Women are so smart and strong and that’s why I love fashion because it can be so feminine, classic yet make a huge statement”. We loved Doux Belle and the great pieces in her collection. Wouldn’t you just love to play dress up with the large feather hats and satin gloves?!
Jaire followed up with their risque collection. Their notorious olive green jersey fabric was a key component in their collection that night followed by unique corsets, opposite low-high skirts and eye-catching slits.
Michelle Herbert has been a crowd favorite since she surprised the crowd with that jaw-dropping front cut out dress at the designer press release a few months ago. Her collection was feminine, daring and the most memorable of all the new emerging designers.
Trang Nguyen’s red finale gown was a show-stopper. I was pleased and surprised with Nguyen’s designs and was happy to see how much she had grown through the months. Her line was simple, clean yet purely elegant.
And then the winner was announced!
The top four emerging designer finalists were: Medium Apparel, Stephanie Gentry, Dolcessa Swimwear and Ja’ire.
Congratulations to Dolcessa for being named the 2013 Emerging Designer!
Denis Danicic and Madison Farrell were announced as the No7 cosmetics Models of the Year and were signed with The Agency Arizona
Rocky Gathercole was the finale show of the evening. With a touch of art, goth, beauty queen and a whole lot of drama, Gathercole was a show to see! My personal favorite was the dress with spike accessories.
As 2013 Phoenix Fashion week came to a close the entire SAK team just wanted to send out a huge thank you to Phoenix Fashion Week and their entire team for allowing us to participate in such an amazing weekend.
Also a HUGE thank you to all the girls who helped me with fashion week: Kelly Burleson, Sammi Nutt, Catt Lovins, Thy Nguyen, and Leah Tsonis!
