I survived SantaCon 2016. This past weekend I celebrated my birthday a couple weeks early with my NYC friends before I head home to Arizona later this week. We decided to attend SantaCon, and boy was it an experience! In case you’re not familiar with what SantaCon is, it’s basically a giant bar crawl every December, and you dress up as Santa. The First SantaCon was in San Francisco in 1994 and has since expanded to hundreds of cities around the world. This was my first year attending SantaCon, and I thought it was a really fun and unique way to celebrate my birthday with friends. I teamed up with Oriental Trading to put together a little holiday party for my friends before we started SantaCon, and I’m giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the set up! (You can check out my last Oriental Trading hosted parties here and here).
The party started first thing in the morning, so we made mimosas with cranberries, bagels, muffins and a few little holiday treats! I decided to opt out of the traditional Santa costue, and go with an outfit that was a little more festive and fun for my birthday – a birthday/christmas present of course! The tag – “To: Men of New York From: Santa” was a joke for my friends, but the costume and tag were definitely a comedic hit at the bars that day! I think I’ll be wearing this to my next holiday costume party.
